"SOS. Yerevan is deprived of natural lungs. 3,000 more trees will be cut." Viktor Mnatsakanyan

Viktor Mnatsakanyan, the former head of Kentron administrative district of Yerevan, wrote on his Facebook page. "SOS.

Yerevan is deprived of natural lungs by receiving artificial respiration.

We start operations from tomorrow.

The trees are standing and dying...

Even the miracle of Christ St. The Easter holiday does not seem to prevent some semi-literates from continuing to kill trees from tomorrow.

We are talking about a multi-step operation being carried out in Yerevan and already reaching threatening proportions, as a result of which, under the pretext of so-called tree change, large and healthy trees of the capital are cut or uprooted. Tree species are ordered to Yerevan residents, which are viable in our conditions not as plants, but as a dangerous source of corruption.

According to various publications of the press, as well as according to truly knowledgeable and unbiased experts on tree replacement in Yerevan, in fact, the process of tree cutting has not passed the proper examination of the relevant circles and structures. The Institute of Botany of the National Academy of Sciences, the Environmental Impact Testing Center were not informed about that "program".

And the structure of the city government, which is directly responsible and implementer of the process, continues to be the focus of corruption scandals.

Dear citizens of Yerevan, at the moment, around 200 trees have been cut, but the perfect DISASTER is still ahead, considering that it is planned to cut down, that is, to destroy around 3 0 0 0 more trees.

This means desertifying Yerevan, leaving #Yerevants to face the heat, distorting the biosphere, and that too in conditions of gradually rising temperatures.

This is a blow not only to our health, color and appearance, but also to our self-love.

In order to prevent an attack on the ecology of Yerevan, we are taking the initiative to create a quick response center, which will respond with practical steps to the unrelenting steps taken by the city government to deforest Yerevan.

We invite all our compatriots, political and non-political forces, public and cultural figures, students and intellectuals who are concerned about this problem to join us to stop the environmental disaster threatening Yerevan together.

Not that tomorrow will be late, but we are already late today.
